Looking for something to snap you out of a drabby time in your life is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
The drab feeling may be a feeling of boredom, finding yourself unmotivated by anything presented to you, or possibly a sense of your future being the same today as it will be 10 years from now. Seeing a future that isn’t brighter than what you’re living now can stir up your emotions, especially uncertainty.
Yes, you can try new things, meet new people, do things you used to love to do, expand on concepts, change up your day, and basically look for other things to light you up, but…
You already know what you want to do (that you aren’t fully doing right now). You may not be able to put your finger on it when you think about it, so wait for it to bubble up. Trust yourself to not think about it, and instead just start doing what you want.
Once you identify it, you’ll come to realize why you’ve held yourself back from doing it for one reason or another.
Doing that “thing” is going to spark your spirits and allow you to live a more aligned, fulfilling life.
So, wait for when “the thing you need to do” hits you, and you immediately start DOING IT. That’s the moment when you’ve given yourself permission to do what you want.
Giving yourself permission to do that “thing” is what you’re really waiting for. You can keep looking for it, but it’s already right in front of you.
It may be scary. It may be exciting.
If it’s both scary and exciting, that’s when I believe you’ve found the needle you’ve been hiding in the proverbial haystack of your life.
In the next day or two, please come back and share something new you’ve given yourself permission to do!
